Assistant Headteacher (L1-L5)

Required from 1st September 2018

Houldsworth Valley Primary Academy are looking for an outstanding teacher who would like to develop their leadership skills, working as a part of the senior leadership team as Assistant Headteacher.  

The role will involve a combination of both teaching commitment and leadership responsibility.  

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to teach either Year 2 or Year 6 initially
  • Experience of teaching KS1 & KS2
  • Ability and willingness to lead a core subject/Key Stage
  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching
  • An open mind and growth mind set
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Great interpersonal skills and good communication
  • A good comprehension of the curriculum
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Leadership ambition beyond assistant headship
  • Passion and commitment to each and every child

Within the trust, we have strong links in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Newmarket and Great Cornard, near Sudbury.  Working within the trust offers great opportunities for career development and advancement including high quality CPD, research and cross-school collaboration.
