Exciting plans for a new £10 million teaching block at Samuel Ward Academy have been shared with West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock.

The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport visited the Haverhill school on Friday to talk first-hand to staff, students and the project team behind the new building.

The newly-appointed headteacher of a Romford secondary school has spoken of her “privilege” at landing the new role.

Jodie Hassan has this week started at the newly-named St Edward’s Church of England Academy – at the same time that the school joins the renowned Samuel Ward Academy Trust.

Newmarket Academy is delighted to announce plans to build a state-of-the-art library thanks to a generous gift from Godolphin founder His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The school has spoken of their delight about the donation saying it will make a “significant difference” to every student.
